FACT OVER FALSEHOOD, CLARIFYING FALSE ALLEGATION MADE AGAINST OSAPA LONDON YOUTH ORGANIZATION BY OLEGRA REPRESENTATIVE

We wish to address a recent and deeply misleading statement made against Osapa London Youth Organization (OLYO), which concern the operations and integrity of our organization in Osapa London.

The falsely alleged that OLYO has been going around soliciting for money. This assertion is not only unfounded but also damaging to the reputation and credibility we have built since the establishment of our organization in 2020, and registered by the government last year 2024.

To clarify, OLYO is a voluntary, community-based organization, focused on youth empowerment, community development, and social reform within Osapa London and its environs. We do not go around soliciting for money. Rather, we present well-documented project proposals to potential sponsors, individuals, and corporate bodies who are interested in supporting impactful grassroots initiatives. It might be through procurement of materials for our organization from the sponsorers or financial assistance.

With regard to our interaction with OLEGRA, one among other Estates Managements in our community Osapa London. We approached them with one of such proposals, seeking support for our youth-driven community initiatives. During the engagement, a pledge of ₦250,000 was made by the OLEGRA representative, and we’ve likewise sent a notice to the representative for the initial scheduled date, before its adjustment after our visit. However, it is important to state clearly that no part of that pledge has been fulfilled to date, neither in cash nor in kind, just as they’ve alleged our organization publicly, that they’ve disbursed the said amount of money to us.

In contrast, all financial support received by OLYO so far has been transparently documented. Notably, the following individuals and organizations have honored their pledges:

1. Mr. Efebo Otonye, Executive Chairman of AA Rescue Limited – ₦1,000,000

2. Engineer Femi Olatunji, Executive Chairman of Monarch Gardens Event Center, although he pledges ₦2,000,000  but gave us ₦1,000,000 and promise to support us subsequently when we commence.

These generous contributions have enabled us to carry out the following:

1. Procurement of professional-grade camera, laptop, tripod, LED lights.

2. Design and development of our official website: www.osapalondonyouthorganization.com

3. Branded shirts and caps for some members.

4. Printing and branding of over 150 official letters, envelopes and printing additional 10 proposals and 5 awards.

5. Production of 9 large banners (15ft by 6ft & 10ft by 5ft) respectively

6. Purchase of 3 reterdent overall vest, 6 Hand gloves, 12 Aprons

7. General logistics.

Let it be known that OLYO is not politically affiliated, does not charge or collect any mandatory fees from members, and has operated solely on voluntary contributions from some of our members since year 2020, and the goodwill from committed stakeholders since inception.

We take great pride in our transparency and integrity. All of our activities, achievements, and community engagements are routinely published on our official website and across our social media platforms.

We hereby challenge any individual or group spreading misinformation about our organization to publicly present evidence supporting their claims. If such evidence cannot be produced, We consider the statements defamatory and malicious.

While our organization is respectful and transparent in nature, we won’t tolerate any form of defamation, degradation and unwanted statement.

We as an organization remain focused on our mission and will not be distracted by falsehoods. We appreciate and thank all those who continue to stand with us in this journey of community transformation.
